It’s Wednesday morning and my train is delayed. Annoying. I rushed for nothing and might not get a seat …
Now a further delay. I know the pattern …
But let me do a mindfulness practice: “notice and acknowledge without trying to change”. After all I am going to start teaching a course on Monday, so I might as well walk-the-walk. I draw my attention to the tension in my head. “Hello, how are you, what’s your shape, your edges, your intensity?...” It feels silly, but why is it here? Protection? From a missing seat?... Dismissing it won’t help so I meet it with respect.
The tension softens. There is space…the crisp morning air is pleasant, and I’m even clear enough to draft this blog post.
Weird, but I find the more I practice the more it works.
