When I read ‘discipline is very important’ it goes into one ear and out of the other. Not because it’s not true, but because so many other things compete for attention.
However, if Ronaldo or Messi were to tell me…
I have come to realise (you may say it’s obvious) that when someone I admire says something, I’m far more likely to listen – and take it to heart. So why not put this to good use?
For example,
- If I want to get into meditation and I’m into business, why not get some inspiration from Ray Daglio? (2mins) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uMVS8FswWk
- If I want to get into breathing techniques and I’m into tennis why not get some inspiration from Djokovic? (2mins) https://www.instagram.com/do.yoga.everyday/reel/DDQj7nrovz6/
- If I want to be more disciplined and I like football why not listen to Ronaldo? (4mins) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeiNm-jjvWY
Personally I will call my friend P and get a good pep-talk.
Yes, it’s worth going to people who have traits I admire, whose words will resonate more deeply and inspire me to act.
