I’m developing a mindfulness course for people dealing with pain and illness. I’m stuck on a key decision:
Should the meditations be 10 minutes or 30? More people will do ten minutes, but it feels too brief; thirty offers depth but might lead to dropouts. I need to get this right.
I bring this dilemma to my supervisor. She guides me through a brief meditation, and suddenly, my mind shifts. The decision feels lighter—both options are fine. I’m clear-headed and ready to move forward.
So, what actually changed? Does the length matter or doesn’t it? Both perspectives can be true: it just depends on my mind state. My supervisor helped me shift into one that got me unstuck.
Conclusion: having ways to shift mind states is super useful – whether I do it alone or with someone’s guidance, like a mindfulness supervisor, or coach.
