What came first, the cloudy mind or the too many have-to’s?
Many are trivial, I know: have to service boiler, have to review loan options, have to manage my calendar better… but together they have a heaviness and mild dread.
My brother then mentions a suggestion from a book called Atomic Habits: changing “I have to” with “I get to”.
Hmm: I get to service the boiler, I get to review my loan options, I get to manage my calendar better.
Funny, it does make things a bit lighter. I don’t intend to analyse why, but it does.
I like small effortless tweaks that are easy to adopt.
