How do you feel about getting bored? With 24hr access to social media it has become a rare experience for me. In fact I have to instigate it.
Meditative practice - being more tuned in to experience - shows that there is value in boredom. It is a time where I can easily notice the mind wandering.
It is precious time where I can acclimatise to the feeling of ‘wanting things to be different'. I can familiarise myself with this very common desire and learn to not let it consume me. With practice I may even experience it as just ripples in the surface of my state of being, immersing myself in the "Being Mode” per mindfulness lingo.
