Isn’t it interesting how physical and mental tension go hand in hand?
And have you noticed how softening one softens the other?
With me for example, a feeling of anxiety is coupled with a subtle clenching of the abdominals and shoulders. Using exercises such as qi-gung, tai chi and Wim-Hof-breathing, I can simply release the ‘physical signature’ and the anxiety dissolves.
Whilst I am not an expert, I am finding them very effective in mild situations, or ones that I am too mentally drained to reason or meditate-my-way-out.
